Where do I begin? So much has happened since I posted last! We went on a fabulous family trip to Eastern United States and I need to post pics and a travel log….but I don't want to talk about that today. I want to share with you something that I learned in seminary a couple mornings ago. Yes, I got a new calling and I teach seminary every morning at 6 am. It is a little different, because I teach it from home over the internet. Shantelle and Lyndon are in class with me along with two students in Kingfisher, one in Woodward and one in El Reno. Basically, we have a web meeting every morning.
So, a couple of days we were studying Doctrine and Covenants section 25. It was given to Emma Smith, but in the last verse the Lord says, "this is my voice unto all". So, the manuals outlined the characteristics of an elect lady in every verse. I loved it and wanted to share it. I believe as we follow this counsel we can be better wives, mothers, and women of God.
Be faithful, walk in paths of virtue (2)
Repent on a regular basis (3)
Do not murmur (4)
Comfort thy husband, in his afflictions (5)
Be meek (5)
Stay committed in relationships (6)
Teach (expound) the scriptures (7)
Give time to writing and learning much (8)
Do not fear (9)
Lay aside the things of the world and seek for things of a better world, focus on eternal things (10)
Lift up thy heart and rejoice, be positive (13)
Cleave to your covenants (13)
Continue in the spirit of meekness (14)
Beware of pride (14)
Delight in thy husband and the glory which shall come upon him (does that mean his successes and the good things he does?) (14)
Keep the commandmants continually (15)
I loved studying this section. I love reading about Emma Smith, she was indeed an elect lady. I know and have known many elect ladies in my life. Thank you for your example to me!!

Thanks Donna, this is part of the answer for my purpose of fasting today. Couldn't be better timing. I bet you make a fabulous seminary teacher! Lucky Kids.
This was great Sunday evening reading... thanks Donna! I love section 25--definitely a favorite.
Hope you had a good trip... So who taught seminary while you were gone?
Stefani, you are always so nice to leave comments on people's blogs. It makes it funner to post things when people comment. I am glad you got something from my post, I kept thinking about and felt like I needed to write it all out on my blog. Love you! Donna
