Christensen Angus Ranch Production Sale 2010

We have wanted to have a production sale for three years now. We use to have them in Hackett, Arkansas, with Bryan's dad. We have enough bulls and a few females to have a production sale, but we needed to get the animals ready. Bryan separated the animals for the rest of the herd and has been feeding them more. The week before the sale we had the animals clipped and shaved, so they will look real good! We hired some cowboys to come and clip the animals! We also need to put new ear tags in their ears. So, here are a few pictures!

This bull was going crazy! He didn't like getting a haircut AT ALL!

One guy who clip the hair on the animal's face, while the other guy clip his tail and back. Then they would take a propane torch and burn the hair on their neck and back. It would singe the hair off! The animals came out of the chute looking sleek and smooth!!

I helped Bryan all week! It was fun working with him! We had a couple kids miss school to help us! It was a long week but lots of fun! We took the animals to the vet where they were checked and then trucked to the sale yard in Woodward.

Monday we took Shantelle, Gretchen, Austin and Tyler to Woodward. Grandma Christensen was so kind to volunteer to keep the three little boys and Lyndon. Lyndon could not miss any more days of school and Lance was too young to go to the sale. It was so nice not having to worry about Chandler and Carter. We went out to dinner at Pizza Hut and then sat in the hot tub at our hotel.

Tuesday, May 30^th, was the big day!! Our sale was after the regular sale. There were some people, but not lots of them. We sold 50 bulls and about 40 females. It was fun watching them sale, but we didn't do as well as we had hoped!

We had a fun day; if only the cattle sale went better! Well, one thing about it, 40 Christensen Angus Bulls will be roaming the pastures of people in Woodward and hopefully they will come back next year to get another one.
